Flooring Giveaway: Honoring The Hometown Hero
There are special individuals in every town who quietly brighten the lives of the people around them. The teacher who stays late to help a struggling student. The neighbor who organizes food drives every winter. The veteran who spends weekends coaching youth sports. The nurse who has worked double shifts for years without any complaints. These real-life heroes rarely ask for anything in return.
That’s why America's Floor Source has teamed up with Mohawk Flooring to launch Hometown Heroes. This program is to simply say thank you to the heroes of our community. One deserving hero will receive a brand-new floor for their home, fully installed and completely free.
And it all starts with a nomination from you!
Who Can Be a Hometown Hero?
This flooring giveaway is not limited to a specific job or title. While first responders, veterans, teachers, and healthcare workers are certainly qualified nominees, we’re interested in hearing about the everyday people who support or inspire their community in ways that often go unnoticed. Maybe it is a volunteer who has dedicated years to a local shelter, or a coach who never misses a practice, or a caregiver who puts everyone else's needs before their own. If someone in your life goes above and beyond—they meet the criteria!
Heroes in Our Service Area
Because the winning floor will be professionally installed by our team, nominees need to live within our install service area. That means anyone within roughly 60 miles of our showrooms in Columbus, OH, Indianapolis, IN, and Louisville, KY are eligible. If you aren’t sure whether your hero falls within that radius, don't worry. Our nomination form will cover the details.
How to Nominate
Nominating a hometown hero is simple. Head to our nomination form and share their story. We will ask for a few basic details about your nominee, along with a short write up explaining why they deserve this recognition. Take your time and paint a full picture of what makes this person special.
Nominations open August 17th and close September 13th, so if you have someone in mind, now is the time to start writing.
What Happens After Nominations
Once nominations close, our team will carefully review every story that comes in. The winner will be announced on September 28th, 2026.
The winning hero and nominator will both be contacted via phone, with email and text as backup. Kindly keep an eye out for a message during that time. If for any reason the selected winner is unreachable, we will move quickly to the next name on our list.
The Winning Prize
The selected hometown hero will receive a completely new floor for their home, with every part of the process covered. That includes the flooring materials from Mohawk, professional installation and labor from America's Floor Source. Our goal is to make this effortless for the winner, from start to finish. The project will be completed within six months of notification, so your hero will be enjoying their new floors well before the following spring.
As part of accepting the prize, the winner will be asked to take part in some light marketing, such as photos or a short video of their new space. This is a wonderful way for the whole community to celebrate the winner alongside us.
