Hardwood Refinishing
When your hardwood floors start to look a little worn out, you have a couple of options.
- You can buff and recoat the floor to bring back the original shine and remove the signs of wear and tear.
- You can go all the way down to the raw lumber, choose any stain color imaginable, and end up with a floor that has the appearance of being brand new.
Buff & Recoat
In a buff and recoat process, the craftsmen come in and buff the current finish of your hardwood floor, preparing the existing top coat to receive a new finish. Once the floor is buffed, the America’s Floor Source hardwood team will apply three coats of high-quality commercial grade urethane.
In many instances, this quicker, less expensive process is all that’s needed to bring your old hardwood floors back to life.
Total Hardwood Refinishing
When a simple buff and recoat isn’t enough, or you wish to change the color of your hardwood floors, a total refinishing is the correct solution.
Refinishing floors starts with sanding your existing floor down to the bare wood. During this process, we will also repair any damaged planks or strips.
Once the floors are sanded, buffed, and thoroughly cleaned, the America's Floor Source hardwood team will stain your floor to your desired tone and color. There are numerous stain options from which you can choose, including customized colors and environmentally safe options that protect the air we breathe.
After the stain has dried, we apply three coats of high-quality commercial grade urethane. Before applying the final coat, we will buff the hardwood floor to knock down any imperfections, creating the smoothest surface possible.
Your old floors will look new again, and with our scratch-resistant coating, they'll stay looking new longer.
