Green Flooring Options
Homeowners, designers, architects, and builders throughout the Columbus area, and across the country, are choosing environmentally friendly flooring options.
For years, hardwood floors harvested from carefully managed, sustainable, healthy forests have been the best choice for green floors. Reclaimed hardwood from old factories, warehouses, homes, and barns has also become a popular option for creating a unique and environmentally sound floor in many homes.
In addition, over the last few years, the popularity of cork and bamboo floors has continued to increase, largely in part due to the great environmental benefits offered by both of these green flooring alternatives.
Cork is harvested from the Cork Oak Tree, native to the Mediterranean region of the world. The part of the tree used for making cork floors is the bark. The bark can be safely removed every seven to fifteen years, when it naturally starts to split, causing no harm to either the tree or the surrounding habitat.

Bamboo replenishes itself every three to five years, making it one of the most environmentally friendly, naturally renewable flooring products available.

America’s Floor Source also does its part as a company to be environmentally conscious. Currently, we recycle paper, cardboard, plastic, carpet and pad.
